Scylla — or Scylladou (and sometimes Scylladont when she’s being her silly or adorably naughty self)
Scylla is a young Doberman who truly embodies the best of both her parents, Hydra and Jarvan. With sky-high drive and energy, she’s always ready to work and shine, but she never misses an opportunity to curl up for a cuddle too.
Scylla made a big impact in the ring early on, finishing her Champion title at just 8 months old at a major Doberman Specialty, competing against some of the very best dogs. Shown mostly in Quebec, she’s been judged by experts from all over Canada and internationally, consistently earning high placements under judges who appreciate her correct structure, movement, and muscle tone — including multiple Best of Breed wins and group placements.
However, being one of the first in Canada to proudly show a natural-eared Doberman comes with its challenges. While many judges are open and fair, some — particularly those still used to the cropped look — would overlook her without truly examining her. Still, those who did judge her properly often awarded her highly, even over top-ranked Grand Champions.
We’re proud to be part of this new movement in Canada, embracing the natural look for the wellbeing of the breed. Too often Dobermans have been chosen for their “intimidating” appearance, not their true temperament or needs. With more breeders and owners stepping forward, we believe this is the future of the breed.
Scylla is now approaching her Grand Champion title, and we have many exciting plans ahead for her bright future. She is a true star in every way — beautiful, powerful, and full of life.
